UK Midlands based, global logistics, warehousing and transport business Amco has restructured and strengthened its management team and have announced the appointment of three new members to the company’s board of directors, all of whom add a high degree of knowledge and experience to the organisation,
Joining the board are:
- Seán Trainor Business Development Director
- David Careless Financial Director
- Mark Jones Operations Director
Seán Trainor joined Amco from Magna Redditch in January 2015 as a Project Manager and after 3 years was promoted to the role of Head of Commercial & Customer Engagement in 2017. Trainor’s success in Customer Care and Key Account Management saw him quickly promoted to Senior Business Development Manager at the beginning of 2018. Trainor has 17 years in Materials and Project Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management and Business Development, predominantly within the Automotive sector.
Dave Careless joins Amco from Federal-Mogul Motorparts, the international original equipment vehicle component manufacturer and aftermarket suppliers. Careless was previously General Manager and Head of Finance with Mahle, the leading international development partner and supplier to the automotive industry and, has 12 years’ experience in Senior Finance roles within high volume manufacturing.
Mark Jones, who joined Amco in 2016, from Mahle, as Head of Operations, takes responsibility across Amco for their UK transport and vehicle fleet, driver compliance and Health and Safety. Jones will manage the group’s warehouse operations, IT and systems with the continuing development of Warehouse and Transport Management Systems as a key focus. Quality Management Systems will also fall under Jones’ span of control.
Amco’s Managing Director Don Mucci Commented. “These appointments signify our absolute commitment to aligning our Board’s expertise with the company’s strategic vision of continuing to develop our logistics offering to further support existing and new customers. Each of these board members has a wealth of knowledge, experience and thought leadership that will be highly valuable as we execute our plans for further growth in the future and as we look to expand our customer base into new sectors’.
Coinciding with the new Board announcement is the news that Amco have implemented a new strategy in terms of their logistics teams and have relocated everyone into their 110,000 sqft flagship distribution centre in the UK Midlands, Amco Park. Sales Director Paul Andrews said, “It’s fantastic to now have the operations team under one roof. Our teams can work faster and communications are clearer and swifter. Despite working under Covid-19 rules and socially distancing, we have already seen the benefits in the 1st few weeks in terms of great morale and an uplift in our already strong customer service KPI’s. We expect this move to one location, one team, to increase our productivity further as well a develop a deeper team culture moving forward.”
