Delivery management platform, Scurri, today announced the appointment of two industry leaders to its Board of Directors. Dr David Dempsey, former Senior Vice President at Salesforce, has been appointed as Scurri Chairman, while Fionnula Higgins joins the Scurri Board as an Independent Director.

Scurri is next generation customisable delivery management software that was created to put retailers in control of the most fundamental pillars of their business, delivery. In 2023 it reported an increase in the total Gross Merchandising Value (GMV) of goods processed through its platform to more than €12 billion and added a mixture of enterprise and mid-market retailers, including The Perfume Shop, BrandAlley and LeMieux, to its existing roster of hundreds of clients. With its mission to innovate in order to keep pace with the demands of retailers and the needs of shoppers, 2023 saw a product roadmap milestone for Scurri, as the company launched its post-purchase experience solution, Scurri Track Plus. Track Plus allows retailers and brands to own and optimise post-sale communications, to drive valuable customer engagement opportunities that boost shopper satisfaction, and drive repeat sales and loyalty.
“Fuelled by accelerated growth last year, we are focused on extending our robust capabilities and exceptional customer service offering to retailers, brands and partners across Europe,” commented Rory O’Connor, founder and CEO at Scurri. “In the U.K. and Ireland, we are seeing both mid-market and enterprise ecommerce brands and retailers embrace Scurri’s proven, customer-centric approach to take back control of the most fundamental pillars of their business – delivery.”
“Drawing on the David’s unparalleled experiences at scaling out SaaS products and with Fionnula’s vast experience in the postal sector, which will be a key focus for the business moving forward, Scurri is even better placed to capitalise on the surging demand for our solutions by brands wanting to enhance the delivery experience.”
Dempsey and Higgins join existing board members to share their distinctive EU and global business perspectives. Dempsey is the former Country Leader at Salesforce in Ireland, where he helped set up the SaaS company’s European headquarters in 2000. Under his leadership, it grew from a three-person operation to a pan-European business with a workforce of more than 2,000. Before Salesforce, Dempsey held executive positions at Oracle, in both the UK and Ireland, including nine years spent as head of Ireland consulting services.
Higgins is the former Chief Commercial Officer at Escher Group Holdings PLC, the global leader powering ecommerce for postal operators, couriers and logistics organisations. Higgins acquired Escher Group in 2007, developed the business before listing it on AIM four years later.
In addition to the appointment of Dempsey and Higgins, forty new roles are planned over the next two years, bringing Scurri’s total headcount to more than 100 employees based in its new state of the art HQ in Wexford, Ireland and London office as it continues to grow its market share and global reach.
