ACI Group Ltd (‘ACI Group’) has announced it is heading to Wembley Stadium this year for the SME National Business Awards, after the UK distributor earned three nominations.
Touted as the Oscars for small to medium enterprises (SMEs), the SME National Business awards are made up of 20 categories, with ACI Group nominated in the ‘Business of the Year – Less than 50 Employees’, ‘Family Business of the Year’ and the ‘Sustainability Award’ groups.
The awards – now in its seventh year – recognise the exceptional hard work, commitment and passion that goes into building SMEs and culminate in a glitzy black-tie event held on 1st December 2023.
“We are overjoyed to receive these three nominations for the SME National Business Awards,” commented Karsten Smet, CEO of ACI Group. “As a leading distributor working with some of the largest global food, pharma, industrial and road brands, we are proud of the work we’ve accomplished as part of our commitment to provide excellent service, sustainability and technology in the supply chain.
“At ACI Group, we’re a small family business that thinks big. Our vision is to positively disrupt the traditional distribution model by building resilience and flexibility into the chain through value-added services. Partnering with sustainable suppliers to deliver innovative ingredients that can help fight both inflation and climate change is a goal we are continually working towards. Next-generation technology will be a major part of achieving that target, helping SMEs save time and money in the challenging times ahead.”
The company has had a great first half of 2023, with one award win and receiving several nominations already. ACI Group recently scooped the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Award for the SME Business of the Year, alongside runner-up status as Business of the Year in the Great British Business Awards. In addition, Karsten Smet was named as ‘Male Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the Thames Valley Business Awards in late 2022.
Karsten concluded: “As one of the most sought-after awards for SMEs, we’re looking forward to celebrating our triple finalist status at Wembley this year – so our thanks go to the SME Business of the Year organisers for our team’s recognition!” To view the list of nominees in full, please visit https://eventsandpr.co.uk/sme-national-business-awards/finalists-2023-2/
