E-commerce WMS Enables More Online Retailers to Ship Amazon Prime Orders Directly to the Customer.
Descartes Systems Group (Nasdaq: DSGX) (TSX:DSG), the global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, has announced its pixi* e-commerce Warehouse Management System (WMS) is helping more online retailers to meet Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime requirements and benefit from the direct delivery of Prime orders to domestic customers.
Retailers that offer Premium Shipping Options, ship more than 99 per cent of orders on time and have an order cancellation rate of less than one per cent* can leverage their own fulfilment operations with the Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime programme. Using Descartes pixi* WMS, retailers with the Amazon Prime badge can meet all criteria and ship products directly from their respective warehouses, making them eligible for the Amazon Buy Box for improved online rankings and greater visibility, while bypassing additional storage costs.
With Descartes pixi* WMS, Amazon Prime orders are automatically placed on a dedicated and optimised pick list, enabling orders to be picked and packed easily within the one-day delivery timeframe required by Amazon Prime, while increasing productivity and reducing error margins. Automated processes via Descartes pixi* WMS can speed up shipping processes by up to 42 per cent and increase the number of packages sent per employee by up to 323 per cent, with return on investment typically achieved within 12 months. With the ability to automate a large variety of processes, including stock receipts, cross docking, over refilling, pick-pack-ship, local carrier integrations, reverse logistics handling and order-status updates along the whole order lifecycle, organisations are also up to 49 per cent faster in handling return processes, with ROI typically achieved in less than 12 months. pixi* also supports ‘chaotic storage’, an automated inventory management system powered by barcodes and barcode scanners pioneered by Amazon for efficient and rapid order picking.
“The challenges posed to retailers by ever greater demands for faster, more flexible delivery options at no extra cost are well known within the industry, and organisations of all sizes are under increasing pressure to find greater efficiencies within their supply chain in order to compete,” said Andrew Tavener, Head of Marketing, Descartes Systems UK. “With Descartes pixi* e-commerce WMS, more organisations can become operationally ready to better fulfil orders and reduce error rates, giving them the option to become part of the Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime programme to reduce costs and increase sales.”
