Restore seeks driver behaviour improvements with Ctrack Vehicle Tracking.

Restore Document Management is using vehicle tracking to target improved road safety, reduced environmental impact and enhanced duty of care as part of a recently-launched driver behaviour initiative. As a result, the company has awarded a three-year contract extension to Ctrack, an Inseego company, for the provision of an advanced telematics solution across its 185-strong van and HGV fleet.

Restore, the largest UK-owned document management company with a network of 100 locations nationwide, has been working with Ctrack since 2010. The company adopted the web-based Ctrack Online system to gain added visibility of its fleet, which is responsible for transporting sensitive documents on behalf of more than 20,000 business customers. Restore’s fleet team is now looking to take advantage of the vehicle tracking solution’s sophisticated monitoring and reporting functionality to achieve major gains in driver performance.

As part of a phased role out, Restore will initially use the tracking system to identify speeding, so it can better engage with persistent offenders. It will use a scheduled speed report to outline where violations have occurred, enabling the company to react quickly to any recurring or excessive issues. Moving forward, the company will also analyse harsh driving events and vehicle idling to understand where wider improvements can be made within the fleet operation in terms of road safety and fuel efficiency.

Restore intends to use the Driver Performance Report, which will allow the fleet team to evaluate individual drivers and groups. The report will place employees in the Green, Yellow or Red Band for each driving exception based on actual performance, with an overall score calculated to provide a simple ranking system. The company is also considering combining this with the Driver Mobi web app, so employees can access their own Driver Score, via a smartphone, which can be viewed alongside a company average score and peer comparisons.

Chris Miles, Fleet Manager at Restore Document Management commented: “We have been using Ctrack Online very effectively for a number of years to gain peace of mind that our employees, vehicles and loads are safe and secure. We are however committed to operating a responsible fleet, so we will now be making use of the system’s impressive functionality to better understand driver performance and encourage improved driving styles.”

Steve Thomas, Managing Director, Ctrack UK Ltd said: “We have developed a feature-rich fleet telematics solution, based on our unrivalled expertise within the marketplace, that can be used to achieve a wide range of business and operational benefits and improvements. We work closely with our customers to ensure they are making best use of their tracking system in line with individual requirements.”
