TimberTec selected as ERP provider by Western Archrib
Building on European market leadership to expand into North America
TimberTec announces today that Western Archrib, part of the Alberta, Canada based Northland Group of Companies, has selected TiCom, TimberTec’s market-leading timber ERP solution. This includes the ERP and the MES system for Western Archrib’s new glulam plant in Alberta, which is part of an $82 million investment to triple Western Archrib’s glulam manufacturing capacity with a go-live date of mid-2025.
Western Archrib is TimberTec’s first glulam customer in North America, marking a significant milestone as it builds on its European leadership to expand globally. Western Archrib selected TiCom due to its flexibility to be customized to meet the specific needs of Western Archrib’s new next generation glulam manufacturing facility. By leveraging its strength in mass timber manufacturing TimberTec aims to capitalize on the potential of glulam to be the building material for a net zero future, as global sales of mass timber (glulam and CLT) are predicted to grow from $1 billion in 2022 to $3 billion by 2030, according to Acumen Research and Consulting.
Craig Ewashko, Co-Owner Northland Forest Products Ltd. says, “We now have our dream team for the project: Machine supplier and machine SPS programming, and from TimberTec: MES, ERP and work-preparation”.
“We are very pleased that Western Archrib have chosen TimberTec and are excited to embark on what I am sure will be a successful partnership. Western Archrib are a forward-looking, innovative business and we pride ourselves on helping our customers anticipate and prepare for the future, identifying the challenges and opportunities ahead and helping to solve these. This is the key to our continued growth”, says Kristian Niklasson, TimberTec Managing Director.
TiCom provides support for complex glulam production and, due to its modular structure, can be precisely customized to the specific requirements of not only glulam/CLT manufacturers but also sawmills and timber traders. Alongside this, TimberTec has the size and expertise to deliver state of the art ERP solutions for the timber industry across the globe. The solutions to be deployed for Western Archrib include TiCom’s glulam/GLT solution, the steering system MES as well as TiCom ERP.
