Classic film distributor chooses Walker
Arrow Films, a British independent distributor of world cinema, cult, art, horror and classic films, has appointed Berkshire-based Walker Logistics to manage the UK supply chain for its physical media products.
Walker will be responsible for fulfilling replenishment stock orders of Blu-ray discs and DVDs to Arrow’s B-2-B accounts as well as picking, packing and despatching discs bought directly by movie fans via the company’s website.
Distribution of Arrow Films’ physical media had previously been undertaken from Sony Digital Audio Disk Corporation’s (DADC) Enfield distribution centre. However, with the site announcing earlier this year that it would shut at the end of 2019, Arrow sought another partner.
Alex Agran, CEO of Arrow Films, comments: “When Sony DADC gave notice of its planned closure, we looked very hard at what options were available to us. We employed a specialist to help us find a partner and have found a perfect company in Walker Logistics – a family-run business with a culture and commitment to cutting edge technology that matches our own approach.”
William Walker, sales director of Walker Logistics, commented: “Arrow supplies a number of specialist retail outlets and has a considerable – and growing – online client base and we will offer a full range of pick, pack and ship services.
“The company has one of the most sought-after catalogues in the film industry and Arrow is an extremely strong brand and we are looking forward to working to ensure that the next stage of its development is successful.”
The contract will operate from Walker Logistics’ multi-user facility in Berkshire.
